Job Summary

SBH Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and medication dispensing. Complies with SBH Health policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.

- Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and clinical coordinators including utilizing pharmacy systems (PrimeRx, EPIC) to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct and assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.

- Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.

- Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. Provide courteous and professional service to patients and healthcare staffs

- Manage inventory, including stocking, ordering, and checking for expired medications

- Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues

- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment

- Adhere to all federal, state, and institutional pharmacy regulations and policies

- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred but required within 1 year of hire.

- Previous outpatient or retail pharmacy experience preferred

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, Excellent communication and customer service skills
