Job Description
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, instructions, and tooling for assembly and test operations.
  • Support new product introduction initiatives from early design through production readiness.
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive design for manufacturability and testability.
  • Build and validate assembly sequences, routings, and process controls.
  • Troubleshoot production issues directly on the shop floor.
  • Lead or support investigations and corrective actions for nonconformances.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, yield, cost, and throughput.
  • Support functional, environmental, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Maintain process documentation, including FMEAs, control plans, and risk analyses.
  • Ensure alignment with aerospace standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Participate in tooling selection, equipment justification, and capital improvement efforts.
  • Interface with quality teams during audits and product acceptance processes.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or 7 years equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing or production; aerospace or high-reliability products preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical assembly and test operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and test documentation.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Preferred: experience in aerospace assembly/test, exposure to AS9100/ISO/FAA requirements, knowledge of ERP/MES systems, and proficiency with root-cause analysis methods.
