ERM is hiring a Community Liaison regionally in the Albany or Syracuse, NY areas. This position engages directly with clients, consultants, and community members on a regular to facilitate engagement and meetings with local community members. This is a part-time (16 hours a week), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, potentially extendable.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Serves as a point of contact for the public.
  • Attends and facilitates local in-person site visits and customer meetings (including door-to-door by appointment).
  • Conducts customer outreach via phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Responds to customer inquiries.
  • Supports strategy and outreach implementation.
  • Supports implementation of communication plan and customer and community engagement strategy.
  • Attends internal and client project team meetings as needed.
  • Prepares timely reports documenting all outreach activities and related customer feedback.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of community relations or local community involvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs or similar with relevant field experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, note taking and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities, synthesize ideas, plan strategically, and implement actions
  • Willingness to travel regionally throughout middle and upstate New York up to 95%; some overnight stays, night and weekend work may be required.

  • Experience with an electric or gas utility company or regultor preferred.

Pay Transparency:

For the Community Liaison position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $74,828-$94,301, $35.97/hr – $45.33/hr USD, limited-term, non-exempt. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/Flexforce employees are NOT bonus eligible).
