The Rockefeller University provides a variety of housing accommodations to support the University's scientific needs. Apartments and dormitories are available to full-time faculty and students, and hotel accommodations are available for faculty and guests of the Rockefeller community. The Housing Department provides a safe, secure, and affordable residence conveniently located near the campus. Most of the University's apartments are located in full-service apartment buildings, with door staff and a variety of amenities. A few smaller apartment buildings are located within a short walking distance from campus. Dormitories and guest accommodations are located on the main campus. The Rockefeller campus is located on the Upper East Side, one of New York's most desirable residential neighborhoods. The 45-person housing staff consists of a group of mechanics, porters, housekeepers, and doorpersons, a superintendent for each building, and an office staff to address administrative needs.

The housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming guest rooms and common areas to ensure that visitors, speakers, and guests have a positive experience while on campus. - - An internal candidate has been identified - - Responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinate daily with the Reservations Office to stay informed of changes and updates to guest bookings. Clean and disinfect guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas used by University guests. Replenish supplies, make beds, and reset spaces to “ready” status following each checkout. Identify and report maintenance and safety issues in a timely manner. Lift, push, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed. Travel to and work at off-site and various campus locations on a daily basis. Collaborate with housekeeping staff and porters to support operational needs. Perform additional duties as assigned by management Qualifications.
