Job Description
The Recruitment Specialist for Falk College supports strategic enrollment efforts for undergraduate and graduate programs and serves as a key resource for prospective students and families. This role helps ensure a responsive admissions experience by managing communications, coordinating recruitment activities, supporting data reporting, and conducting information sessions that promote Falk’s academic offerings. The position works closely with the admissions team and campus partners to streamline processes, maintain accurate records, and support outreach initiatives.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences. The role also supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance admissions operations, student engagement, and recruitment strategy. Responsibilities include serving as a first point of contact for inquiries; sharing program information; guiding applicants through the admissions process; coordinating recruitment events and information sessions (in person and online); managing reports from university recruitment systems; using Slate for application tracking and communications; collaborating with campus partners; and handling sensitive student information with discretion.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience working in a service-oriented position in a collegiate or university environment.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Slate or similar CRM to track student contacts and provide outreach.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, detail orientation and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Initiative, independent decision-making, and sound problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Frontline support for prospective students and families.
  • Acting as the initial point of contact, the specialist provides accurate and timely information via phone, email, and in-person interactions. They guide individuals through the application process and represent Falk College with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
  • Recruitment and event coordination. The specialist plans and executes both in-person and virtual events, manages logistics and communications, and conducts information sessions to promote Falk’s academic programs. These efforts are designed to showcase the college’s strengths and foster meaningful engagement with prospective students.
  • Managing communications and engagement workflows.
  • Using the university’s Slate CRM system, the specialist develops and maintains targeted messaging strategies to keep applicants informed and engaged throughout the admissions cycle. This includes maintaining communication records and supporting personalized outreach.
  • Data reporting and system management are central to this role.
  • The specialist generates and distributes reports from recruitment systems, tracks application progress, and ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of admissions data.
  • Proficiency in Slate and strong attention to data integrity are essential.
  • Collaborative initiatives and process improvement.
  • The specialist works with academic departments and university offices to support admissions-related projects, identify operational enhancements, and contribute to strategies that improve student engagement and recruitment outcomes.
