Job Summary: The HVAC Tech II performs a variety of duties of relating to maintaining, repairing, and renovating the Hospital's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Systems. The incumbent is guided by a thorough knowledge of all refrigeration system installations, repair methods, Automated controls, and by knowledge of safety procedure as well as departmental & hospital policy & procedure, as well as a familiarity with building plans, equipment manuals, and fundamentals of leadership.

Responsibilities:

- Tests, repairs and installs various refrigeration systems.

- Inspects, trouble shoots, cleans and repairs components of all types of heating and cooling systems.

- Installs all types of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment when necessary.

- Possesses thorough knowledge of pneumatic and electrical controls.

- May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime if needed.

- Able to navigate and work with existing building automation systems

- Uses torch to braze and solder piping as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: 1 year of advanced trade school and 2 years of experience in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning, required or four years experience in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning, required. Prior healthcare or industrial facilities experience preferred Prior experience and some working knowledge of centrifugal units, DX units and chilled water systems. Familiarity with tools, methods of many trades and knowledge of building and safety codes.

Education: High School graduate or High School Equivalency Diploma, required.

Licenses / Certifications: EPA 680 Universal Certification (Includes Type I, Type II, Type III), required.

Other: Clean Drivers License
