Westchester Hills Golf Club, located in White Plains, NY, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time 2nd Assistant Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00
Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment
  • Reads, understands, and keeps up-to-date material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations
  • Ensures the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers
  • Maintains logs of applications and files related reports
  • Responsible for hand spraying and maintaining proper mixing amounts and application techniques
  • Keeps up-to-date knowledge of chemicals and fertilizers being applied
  • Ensures proper calibration of all spraying and fertilizing equipment
  • Supervises and assists maintenance staff with daily duties
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations
  • Ensures associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations
  • Addresses all real or perceived environmental concerns directly
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Manages department members, including but not limited to Environmental Technicians
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are provided to each new associate and develops ongoing training programs
  • Monitors business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree (AA) from a four- or two-year college or technical school; 3 to 4 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
Other Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid pesticide application license
  • Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
  • Regularly wears safety equipment that covers the entire body and may trap body heat and moisture
